Proudly partnered with Circuit Dojo and Nordic Semiconductor
This webinar brings together speakers representing each part of the IoT development cycle for LTE-M specific projects. The webinar covers the most critical aspect to consider when developing a solution that leverages LTE-M. Along the way, you will be introduced to the Soracom network, the nRF9160 System-in-Package (SiP) from Nordic Semiconductor, and the LTE-M Feather development board by Circuit Dojo, which combines both along with NB-IoT functionality, additional hardware features, and helpful firmware tooling.
This webinar will be live on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 2 pm EST/11 am PST.
To discuss the unique connectivity benefits and limitations of LTE-M we have Brenna Belletti from Soracom joining the webinar. Brenna will present from the perspective of a network provider. She will share what to consider when selecting a network provider, best practices when managing a deployment at scale, and examples of how Soracom is helping IoT innovators bring their vision to market. In addition, she will discuss the energy benefits of selecting LTE-M over other connectivity options and common use cases.
For diving into the various technologies contained in the nRF9160 SiP, we have Bjørn Kvaale from Nordic Semiconductor joining the webinar. Bjørn will give a brief introduction to the SiP and its worldwide regulatory certification, discuss how it solves security challenges in cellular IoT products, and address the nRF9160’s aptitude for asset tracking as well as its impact on battery life.
Jared Wolff, the founder of Circuit Dojo and creator of the nRF9160 Feather IoT Development Board, will finish the webinar by discussing the benefits of his dev board and how it drastically lowers the barrier to entry. Next, Jared will walk through the specifications and hardware features of the board. Including firmware, bootloader, power management, onboard flash storage, accelerometer, and GPIO pins.
All presenters will be available for live Q&A after the presentation. Soracom will also have staff available to answer questions in a live chat during the event.
This webinar is for any hardware developer, engineer, CTO, or product manager involved in developing an IoT project that leverages LTE-M connectivity. Projects range from air quality detection, remote monitoring, pet tracking, and more, with hundreds of developers worldwide using it to explore LTE-M.
Jared is the creator of the NRF9160 Development Board. An electronic product leader with over 10 years of experience working from Silicon Valley, Jared helps startups bring their products from concept to production. He specializes in hardware and firmware design for Bluetooth Low Energy devices.
Bjørn has been at Nordic since 2017, helping customers debug their Bluetooth mesh and cellular IoT applications. He is currently a product marketing engineer spreading the word about the benefits of developing IoT products using Nordic Semiconductor’s portfolio of SoCs and development tools.
Brenna is a Solutions Architect at Soracom helping customers design and develop their cellular IoT projects. Brenna’s background is as a software engineer who has worked on a wide variety of development platforms and systems whilst leveraging a variety of languages and technologies across her various technical and engineering roles.
