SXSW Conference & Festivals are almost over!

I was there for the first time and wanted to share my experience and pictures attending the largest Music, Interactive and Film events and the Trade-shows!

For the record, I was not there for fun. I was there to meet with our customers in the area and partners who were exhibiting SXSW Trade-shows. Well, I am not saying that I didn’t have fun 😉

South by Southwest is an annual conglomerate of film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. It began in 1987, and has continued to grow in both scope and size every year.

Life Line Lunchbox
by Hakuhodo i-studio Inc. powered by SORACOM x SONY

Lifeline Lunchbox is a bento box that carries more than food.
By taking a Lifeline Lunchbox with you on your trek, your location information and safety status will be continually updated by our newly developed wireless communication module.
After eating your handmade Obento meal, press the “Thank you for the meal” button to pass your thanks and notice of safety to the mountain base.
Lifeline Lunchbox strives to be a service that provides safety and peace of mind.

Antennas with Sony’s wireless communication technology are set up in the mountain, creating a network. The Lifeline Lunchbox, available from the mountain cottage, uses a radio transmitter to communicate with the network of antennas. Data is consolidated on SORACOM’s original platform which specializes in IoT devices. The location map is visualized in 3D using Hakuhodo i-Studio’s TREK TRACK technology, making it possible to view from a computer or smartphone.

Frog Design Nights @ South by southwest

I was there only for few days and probably missed most of the events there. But I had so much fun regardless. I hope I have another chance to attend this great festival in the future.

See you next time,
Tack. T
